What inspired the Hylo Coffee Table?
DT: “The inspiration behind the Hylo draws from nature’s organic form, and the infinite beauty our surroundings kindly show us. We wanted the design to ignite conversation about natures amazing forms, whilst being a testament to sustainable design. We love how the design represents infinity from one angle, and from another, the steam bent curves overlay each other to create a beautiful soaring, layered display.”
How important is a coffee table to a living space?
DT: "A coffee table is an essential element in any living space. It serves as both a functional, and aesthetical centrepiece. Functionally, it provides a surface for placing beverages, books, and décor items, enhancing the convenience of the room. Aesthetically, the coffee table has the power to tie together the design elements of a space and create a focal point. It encourages gatherings and conversations, making it a vital piece for a welcoming atmosphere."
Why is it important to bring nature-inspired forms into the home?
DT: "Nature-inspired forms bring a sense of harmony and tranquillity to the home, which can be well needed in bustling living spaces. Organic forms connect us with the natural world, whilst also promoting a well-being focused environment. They evoke a sense of calm and balance, making our homes more inviting and harmonious places to live."
Is there a set process you follow when coming up with a new furniture design?
DT: "Designing a new piece of furniture is a fun, creative process. It often starts with inspiration drawn from nature, as seen in the Hylo Coffee Table's organic curves. From there, we refine the concept, considering factors like functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics. We experiment with materials, forms, and techniques to ensure that the design aligns with our commitment to sustainable, life long, craftsmanship. Every detail is carefully considered, from the choice of wood to the finishing touches, to create a piece that seamlessly integrates into contemporary interiors while staying true to the TR ethos."
Can you think of some coffee table styling tips?
DT: "Coffee table styling is an art that can enhance the overall look of your living space. Create a balanced arrangement by mixing different heights and shapes of décor items. For example, combine a stack of books, a vase of flowers, and a decorative tray to add visual interest. Scented or decorative candles can add warmth and ambiance to your living area. Choose candles that complement the overall style of the room. Remember that coffee table styling should reflect your personal taste and the overall theme of your living space.
