Reporting to: Lighting Workshop Coordinator

Salary: £19,760.00

Working pattern: This role is 40 hours a week. We are committed in the promotion keeping our teams wellbeing paramount. Therefore your hours start at 07:00 – 15:30. This allows you to get to work without hitting rush hour, and back home intime to enjoy the rest of your day. And weekends off.

Job purpose

This is an exciting, hands-on role, making elegant lighting pieces, for Tom Raffield’s Ltd. We are looking to recruit a positive, self-determined, and committed individual who wants to join our organisation and proudly become part of our Tom Raffield team. You will be working within our lighting department in our communal workshop, based in Falmouth, Cornwall. Your role will be making handmade, high-quality steam bent products and support the business in reaching its full potential and become a household name in the design industry. This is an entry level role, where we will provide you with the relevant training and equipment, to support you in delivering maximum efficiency.

 

Key areas of responsibility

  • Daily running of raw materials to makers workbenches.
  • Moving goods from workshop to finishing area.
  • Assisting the assembler & finisher to complete products before being ready for dispatch.
  • Prepping raw materials to be ready for assembly.
  • Assuming elements of the role of trainee makers in basic processes such as sanding products to our high standards.
  • To consistently produce an output of products to meet schedule requirements, quality criteria and expected lead times.
  • To be part of a team who collaboratively work together to produce and run an efficient, effective, and safe workshop and working environment.
  • Work in different parts of the business e.g. Logistics as required and scheduled by the Workshop Coordinator and Head of Production.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to by the Workshop team members and visitors to the workshops.
  • Ensure wastage is correctly recorded and reported.
  • Participate in daily tasks as required to keep the workshop and the environment a tidy, clean, clear, safe space to work in.
  • Undertake any other appropriate work-related tasks as might be required from time to time.

There are elements to the role which will evolve and develop over time so the above list is not exhaustive and may be adapted depending on business requirements and performance.
