Autumnal Updates: Ahead of the Curve

27 September 2018

Looking for that perfect piece to complete your interior? We’ve asked the Tom Raffield team which of our signature designs they are coveting this Autumn.

Whilst mid-century inspired furniture (characterised by sharp edges and sleek lines) has been a huge interior trend over this past year, the new season marks the arrival of curvaceous, softer shapes stealing the spotlight.

And let’s face it, it’s no secret that we’re big fans of sculptural, bendy shapes…here's a round up of the Tom Raffield teams top five designs that have that 'killer curve' flair.

Quill
Quill 550 in Oak looks great against a burgundy backdrop and accented with hints of green foliage.

The Quill suits a living room setting, this shoot by Heal's showcases the pendant's curvaceous aesthetic.

Quill 550 Pendant

Part of our brand new Modum Lighting Range, the Quill is guaranteed to enhance any space. With 48 intricate steam bent petals handcrafted from either oak or walnut wood and over 3 meters of sustainable wood in each individual pendant, the Quill 550 certainly satisfies our appetite for curvaceous shape.

We particularly like the Quill in a dining or living room setting where its curves can be admired from every angle.

May Coffee Table

The May Coffee Table ticks all of our 'curved design' boxes. A simplistic yet striking round top contrasts with the May's hero feature: an adventurous, swooping, curved support. The table is a masterful interpretation of contemporary design, making an elegant statement in your space.

Accessorise with your favourite books, a candle or even some fresh, season flowers for maximum wow factor.

Merryn Floor Planter

Another signature design that showcases the art of steam bending at its very finest, our Merryn Floor Planter (part of our exclusive Green Range) summons nature inside and will transform your living space. Sixteen elliptical blades of twisting steam bent oak stand shoulder to shoulder in striking spherical conduct to support a nestled, handmade earthenware bowl.

The Merryn looks great in any space but we particularly like the planter in a living room, kitchen or bedroom filled with your favourite succulent or palm.

“A celebration of sustainable, biophilic design and traditional craftsmanship, The Green Range is born from the nature that inspires it”.

No.1 Pendant

Precise yet untamed. Imposing yet weightless. The No.1 Pendant was the first light we ever created, and making it remains impossible for all but a few of our team to accomplish. The iconic pendant's round, 'twisting and turning' aesthetic is curvaceous and eye-catching making it a great conversation starter.

This light looks great anywhere in the home. We love it in a living room or bedroom setting to really make the most of the dappled shadow thrown from the shade.

The No.1 Pendant is also available in Giant and Giant XL pendants.
