RIBA House of the Year 2018
Lochside House, featuring our steam bent lighting and furniture products, has been named as RIBA, House of the Year 2018.
The beautiful cottage located on the edge of an off-grid loch in the West Scottish highlands featured on the Channel 4 television series, Grand Designs: House of the Year.
Designed by Haysom Ward Millar Architects, the property is made up of three separate buildings and has been crafted from natural materials that marry with its scenic location. The humble home produces its own electricity from solar panels and sources clean water from its own borehole.
The award-winning home is bright but pared-back inside, with minimal design features and a cool, neutral colour palette. Furnishings are crafted from natural materials that complement the exterior architecture.
Our Crib Console Table, Mullion Floor Light and Hanter Table Light enhance the calming, understated space and provide functionality as well as aesthetic charm. The home owner, a ceramics artist, has adorned the living space (above) with subtle, timeless pieces that balance creativity and craftsmanship.
"Inside, the spaces merge with the artist owner's art collection, and there is an overwhelming sense of comfort, warmth and homeliness."
