Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Reporting to: Director of Operations

Salary: Competitive

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Permanent contract, 37.5 hrs a week.

Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:00. At present we do not work weekends or bank holidays, unless business demands it.

Location: This role is based at our workshops in Falmouth, Cornwall and you will be unable to work from home.

What You'll Be Doing


This is an exciting opportunity in a vibrant Cornish business carrying out a critical operational function. As the Supply Chain Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the company has all the required assets in stock in a timely manner by steering all associated activity. The role is spread across purchasing, inventory and supply chain functions and connects with all facets of the organisation.

        • Have at least two years in a purchasing or supply environment.
        • Show excellent computer skills particularly in MS Excel.
        • Be able to adapt to different digital applications that are used within the business.
        • Show high levels of organisation and excellent time management skills.
        • Have excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
        • Be able to work well under pressure.
        • Be a mathematical and logical thinker.
        • CIPS qualification desirable but not essential.
        • Be a team player with a positive can do attitude.


Your Key Responsibilities

Purchasing


        • Responsible for all company purchasing needs across main workshop, logistics, design, maintenance and office departments.
        • Ascertaining the needs for weekly purchase runs from all production departments.
        • Carrying out supplier returns where necessary.
        • Sourcing and purchasing for new product development.


Inventory


        • Top line forecasting against projected sales to ensure correct stock levels. Including creation of purchasing schedule to forecast flow of cash and stock across the year.
        • Manage a schedule of stock counts across volume and value to ensure high level of stock accuracy.
        • Constant review of kanban re-order system to ensure a lean and agile level of inventory that eliminates stock outs and doesn’t create a block to production.
        • Carry out smooth and efficient goods in process to physically and digitally enter goods into stock.
        • Ensure all wastage is accounted for.


Supply Chain


        • Maintain a healthy relationship with existing suppliers to constantly achieve best possible price and service level.
        • Communicate with suppliers across all facets of the role including negotiations and quality feedback.
        • Create new connections as required across new activity and in effort to obtain best price and service on commonly used materials.
        • Work closely with design, logistics, and marketing teams to introduce best suppliers and processes.
        • Key role in change control and improvement processes.
