Cornish Autumn: How to Bring the Coast Indoors

22 October 2026

Bringing the coast indoors in autumn means looking past blue and white to natural shapes and deeper hues. Here is how to do it with our Urchin, Verso and Cove lighting, inspired by our Cornish surroundings.

Golden leaves, fiery sunsets, crisp mornings and cosy evenings. If a seasonal refresh is calling this autumn, we have plenty of inspiration from our coastal Cornish surroundings.

Often, we associate spring/summer with bringing the outdoors in with natural materials and plenty of greenery, but that doesn't mean we can't do the same in the cooler months.

It's no secret that our Founder and Creative Director Tom Raffield takes plenty of inspiration from his Cornish home, from beautiful shapes to a curated selection of coastal-inspired shades. If you'd like to bring a little of the coast indoors and create your own Cornish autumn this season, here are some of our top tips.

Subtle shapes: Urchin and Verso lighting

Coastal inspiration isn't limited to nautical stripes and combinations of blue and white. Instead, opt for a more subtle approach by looking at the shapes, textures and forms found in nature, from the gentle movement of waves to the organic forms of shells and textures of the shoreline.

Our Urchin Lighting Range takes inspiration from sand-combed shells. Steam bent into organic spheres, the wooden lighting brings the outdoors in while the curved structure resembles the natural, sculptural form of shells.

Nothing quite says autumn like the falling leaves, and the trees lining our beautiful Cornish coast are no different.

Add a touch of movement to your interiors with our Verso Range: an asymmetrical wooden work of art that showcases the gravity-defying, swooping motion of falling leaves in the wind. Looping to create an eye-catching shape, the design is crafted from one continuous length of sustainably sourced timber that effortlessly surrounds the warm glow of the exposed bulb, casting a beautiful blend of light and shadow wherever it's placed. Opt for the Verso Portable Table Light to warm up cooler evenings as you're sinking into a dark corner with a book.

Colours of the coast: Cove Skipper and Cove Mooring

Shades of blue and white have long been associated with the coast, but autumn allows us to tap into deeper hues. Think shell-inspired pinks and dark reds reminiscent of turning leaves.

Familiar forms take on a new radiance as our most beloved designs are reborn in the captivating colours of the Cornish coast.

Introduce a warming glow into your home with our Cove Skipper Pendant in Ember Red. Echoing the tranquil hues of Cornwall's hidden coves, each pendant is individually handcrafted, offering bright light and bold contrasting shadows.

If blue remains your go-to coastal hue, experiment with ways of introducing it to different spaces within your home. Rugs and soft furnishings work brilliantly for adding warmth to open living spaces, while accessories and smaller fixtures can brighten up a kitchen or hallway.

The Cove Mooring Table Light is created from a piece of wood, arched to showcase an exposed bulb casting a boundless glow. In Falmouth Blue, incorporate this vibrant wooden lamp into hallways, kitchens or bedrooms to enjoy a touch of the coast from the warmth of your home.
