We're looking for a Marketing Assistant to join our Tom Raffield team.
Job Title: Marketing Assistant (Content, Social Media & PR)
Reporting to: Head of Marketing
Established in 2008, Tom Raffield design and make a range of contemporary furniture and lighting that is beautiful in form and practical in function. With wholesale and individual customer bases, each Tom Raffield product is hand-made by a skilled set of craftsmen and individually finished with the care and attention of a fine piece of art. The business has built and continues to build a fantastic reputation within a luxury market.
The purpose of the Marketing team is to establish Tom Raffield as an international household name with a proposition built on creativity, innovation and craftmanship. Engaging story telling sits at the heart of our organisation and drives activity across multiple teams.
Reporting into the Head of Marketing, as Marketing Assistant, you will be creating engaging email, PR and social campaigns driven by authentic content through all channels. You will be responsible for promoting the Tom Raffield brand across all touch points.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary responsibility will be to combine strategic initiative with creativity and innovation to create compelling stories for our customers, clients and press, to drive sales across all channels and support the overall marketing strategy.
The delivery of a content strategy will be your main responsibility, so you should be able to plan ahead, juggle multiple tasks and understand your audience. You’ll need to set clear objectives, prioritise workload and most crucially, measure results. This role will involve working with various teams and management, so communication is key. Ensuring the flow of quality content internally and externally across media outlets and all our social and sales channels is crucial to take the Tom Raffield story to new audiences, creating engaged customers and deliver an exceptional brand experience.
A clear understanding and knowledge of the product, target audience and the various competitor activities in the market.
Content plan creation and coordination - working closely with the Marketing Coordinator, design and sales teams to ensure delivery of innovative content that is aligned with the overall marketing strategy and sales plans.
Own the Copy Writing & TOV Guide and whilst managing and sharing all relevant content.
Assist the Marketing Coordinator in developing and launching marketing and social media campaigns that focus on increasing traffic volume, generating new consumer acquisitions and expanding social community engagement.
Create content for a wide range of marketing material, from range and product descriptions, brand stories and press releases, to website landing pages, emails, printed material and social media posts.
Assist the Marketing Coordinator and our SEO agency to coordinate the SEO strategy and implement best in class campaigns.
Creating content, utilising approved creative assets from our Senior Designer.
Amending, revising or redeveloping content in response to feedback from different sources.
Source inspirational 3rd party content where required.
Keep up to date on emerging trends and conduct regular competitor analysis.
Management of the brand’s Tone of Voice guide and delivering training and monitoring to peers in order to deliver consistent and accurate messaging that adheres to the brand standards. Working with the Senior Designer to review and develop our brand guidelines.
Own the social media marketing strategy across existing and new platforms.
Deliver a tailored content plan for each social channel with well curated stories.
Schedule social media posts ensuring posts are optimised per channel and based on insights. Respond to queries, direct messages and maintain an open dialogue across all platforms.
Grow Tom Raffield’s social media presence in line with business objectives, including an influencer programme.
Maintain the brand's visual identity and tone of voice across all social platforms.
Building relationships with the social media teams of key partners to enable cross promotional campaigns.
Ensure the social media budget is monitored monthly and delivered effectively.
Monitor, listen and respond to users, while cultivating leads and sales.
Keep up to date on emerging trends and conduct regular competitor analysis.
Build relationships with key industry journalists to secure influential press coverage.
React to incoming media enquiries and respond in a timely manner to optimise results.
Write press releases and create all associated materials/assets to distribute across pre-defined PR channels.
Liaise with journalists and editors to build out relevant PR channels.
Maximise coverage of our innovative products across UK and overseas markets.
Monitor the on/offline reputation of Tom Raffield and suggest improvements as and when required.
Reporting and Monitoring:
Produce regular campaign, coverage and engagement reports against pre-defined KPIs.
Conduct ongoing (weekly and monthly) analysis for all campaigns, coverage and engagement against pre-defined KPIs.
Liaise with Sales team on loans/samples for relevant social media and influencer gifting.
Embed simple and effective procedures and systems to ensure delivery against KPIs.
Ensure the brand guidelines are adhered to and continually monitor brand ‘effectiveness’.
Ensure all communications promote Tom Raffield in a positive light, always remembering that Tom Raffield is a market innovator and that public perception is extremely important.
Research and prepare any relevant project documentation, analysis and reports.
Manage relevant portions of the marketing budget.
Peer group liaison/cross team liaison
Support the organisation-wide strategic plan objectives.
Support the development of the marketing team to become more efficient, to use more innovation, continue to be creative and support overall brand development and business goals.
Work with team members to ensure that all projects are properly joined up.
Work with agencies to support the business goals and drive Tom Raffield differentiation.
These responsibilities are essential in a small business where all members of the team are required to work flexibly and help in all and any area during busy periods.
Supporting the office team with any duties which are causing work pressure, and when own responsibilities and priorities allow.

ATTRIBUTES ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
Relevant Experience (Work and non-related work experience relevant to the job and organisation). Copywriting experience within a design-led, creative brand.
A proven track record of delivering creative PR and social campaigns against KPIs.
Strong knowledge of PR, content and social best practices.
Strong creative writing experience coupled with a commercial mind-set.
An understanding of the workings of TR brand and it’s USPs.
Strong operational PR; with experience in writing cross-channel campaigns.
Proven KPI driven approach to content creation; monitoring the ROI’s for each activity and managing budgets.
Excellent understanding of social media campaign delivery, monitoring and reporting.
Good understanding of the importance of SEO in content creation online.
Experience of using Microsoft Office, Shopify, WordPress CMS.
Capable of working in a small to medium sized organisation with a strong ethos of delivery.
Previous experience working as a copywriter within a lighting, furniture or interiors brand.
Data driven content creation experience.
Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience of using analytics packages.
(Specific qualifications and or training) BA Hons Degree.
English/Math’s GCSE grade C or above.
Highly proficient IT skills.
PR/Marketing course or qualification.
