Job Title: Lighting Workshop Assistant
Contract Type: Permanent contract, 40 hours per week.
Reporting To: Production Coordinator
Start Date: January 2023
Working Hours: 07:00 – 15:30. At present we do not work weekends or bank holidays, unless business demands it. This role is based at our workshops in Falmouth, Cornwall and you will be unable to work from home.

What you'll be doing...
This is an exciting entry level role. Your role as a Workshop Operative will be to prepare parts and assist the Workshop Team to make our iconic lighting range. This is a manufacturing role in which you will be provided with the relevant training and equipment. You will be part of a dynamic team working within an efficient, effective and safe workshop environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with a can-do, helpful attitude. Be confident in using both machine-powered and hand-held tools.
Be happy to perform manual and repetitive work
Have good manual dexterity and an eye for detail
Have a good understanding of working to tight deadlines and ability to prioritise tasks
Be able to follow processes and instructions precisely

Have experience that has given you the skills required for this role
Your Key Responsibilities
Prepping and sanding raw materials, ready to be assembled by the finishing team
Prepare a range of lighting products supported by workshop makers and coordinator
Consistently produce an efficient output of parts and products to meet daily/weekly schedule requirements within expected lead times.
Help run an efficient, effective, and safe workshop and working environment.
Aim for an increasing daily product output and assist with workshop activities as set by Workshop Coordinator.
Gain relevant product knowledge: product ranges, wood types, components, stages, finishing, common problems, repairs, lead times, production times.
Learn to quality control own work under full supervision of senior colleagues.
Record own timings for each stage of production and aim for timings to reduce.
Contribute to Workshop systems and processes to result in efficient working practices as part of working in a continuous improvement environment
Active participation in the induction and skills training programme and practice skills with colleagues; learning from others; supporting the learning of colleagues.
Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to.
Ensure wastage is correctly recorded and reported.
